This Privacy Policy explains how [CLUSTER | E-commerce Agency ] (“we”, “us”, “our”, or the “App”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Shopify application [Cluster Extensions App] (the “App”).

By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. What the App does

The App allows Shopify merchants to rename payment methods at checkout (for example, showing clearer labels such as credit/debit card or interest-free installments) using Shopify payment customizations.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Store and authentication data

When you install the App, Shopify provides information required to operate the integration, which may include:

  • Shopify store domain (for example, yourstore.myshopify.com)
  • Access token / authentication session
  • Authorized scopes
  • Basic admin user information associated with the Shopify session (if available), such as name and email

We use this data only to authenticate the App, keep the session active, and provide the service.

3.2 App configuration data

We store the configuration you set in the App, for example:

  • The payment method name to rename
  • The selected display text or preset shown at checkout
  • An optional emoji
  • The enabled/disabled status of the customization

This configuration is primarily stored in metafields / payment customization resources in your Shopify store and is used to apply the rename at checkout.

3.3 Data we do not collect

The App is not designed to collect or store:

  • Personal data of your end customers (buyers)
  • Card details or sensitive payment data
  • Order history
  • Marketing, advertising, or third-party analytics data for purposes unrelated to the App

Payment processing is handled by Shopify and/or your payment gateway, not by this App.

4. How we use information

We use information only to:

  • Install, authenticate, and operate the App on your store
  • Save and apply your payment method rename settings
  • Maintain and improve the technical operation of the App
  • Comply with legal obligations or respond to valid requests from authorities
  • Provide support when you contact us

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Purpose of processing

We process information to provide the service you request when installing the App, fulfill the service agreement, and operate the Shopify integration securely.

6. Shopify permissions (scopes)

The App requests limited permissions required for its function, related to payment customizations (read_payment_customizations, write_payment_customizations). We do not request access to customer data, orders, or other resources that are not necessary to rename payment methods.

7. Information sharing

We may share information only in these cases:

  • With Shopify, as part of the normal operation of embedded apps and Shopify APIs
  • With infrastructure providers (for example, hosting or database providers) that help us operate the App, under confidentiality obligations
  • When required by law, or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the service

We do not share your data with third parties for advertising.

8. Storage and retention

  • We retain session and configuration data while the App is installed and as needed to provide the service.
  • If you uninstall the App, we delete or stop using sessions associated with your store according to our cleanup processes (including handling the uninstall webhook).
  • Configuration stored in your Shopify store (for example, metafields) may remain under your store’s control according to Shopify’s practices.

9. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. No system is 100% secure; we also recommend protecting access to your Shopify admin.

10. International transfers

The App and its infrastructure may operate on servers located outside your country. By using the App, you acknowledge that information may be processed in those locations, with reasonable safeguards available.

11. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may request:

  • Access to information we hold related to your store
  • Correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion of data, where applicable
  • Information about how we process your data

Uninstalling the App from Shopify also starts the process of ending access to your store.

12. Children’s privacy

The App is intended for merchants and Shopify admin users. It is not directed to individuals under 18 years of age.

13. Third-party services

Your use of Shopify and payment gateways is governed by those third parties’ policies. This Policy covers only processing performed by our App.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the updated version with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the revised version, where applicable.
